Many of you are probably feeling the same sadness and disbelief that I’m experiencing surrounding the events in Boston today.
My heart aches for all who have been affected and I struggle to understand how or why someone would desire to harm others.
And yet as I grapple with the reality that our world is not always kind; I am reminded that love and gentleness still surround us.
Just now, I spied a little girl walking home from school.
She was stealthily sneaking into the neighbors front yard. I thought maybe she was stalking a bunny, but then she held up her cellphone and snapped a picture of the neighbors spring tulips in full bloom.
She paused, looked at her screen with satisfaction, and continued walking.
It was such a sweet moment, and it reminded me that hope lives on.
When confronted with times like these, we can choose to reflect on the many blessings in our lives.
Sneak a moment of gratitude, just like the little girl with the tulips.
